CHOO CHOO PRESS

Choo Choo Press is a non-profit publishing project dedicated to poetry, artists' books, and thoughtful nonfiction.

We publish 3-4 books a year, mostly by queer and women artists. We strongly prioritize the physical reading experience, making use of the various forms of a "book" to highlight our authors' vision. To this end, all of our projects have some handmade element, and production is handled either in-house or with trusted, local printers. We use 100% post-consumer waste paper and as much recyclable packacking as we can. Print runs are typically 150-250 copies.

To see our books in person, drop by the following NY bookstores: McNally Jackson, Quimby's, Black Spring Books, Topos Bookstore, Unnameable Books. We're also stocked at Grolier Poetry in Boston and Found in Wedding in Berlin. Just ask for the zine section :)

Finally, Choo Choo Press is dedicated to the accessibility and longevity of its publications. We maintain both physical and digital archives of past work and continuously partner with various zine libraries and collections. As of late, select poetry chapbooks are housed at the Poets House library and at the Asian American Writer's Workshop, where they are available to read free of charge.
